Hey, I’m Mike Colangelo.
So as y’all mite get to know, im a huge sports fan, specially football.  So… this weekend was the opening weekend for the NFL, and I was and am super pumped about it.  Im gonna just go thru the games real quick and add some notes and stuff.
So first game was on Thursday… Steelers-Titans.  Turned out to be a real good game overall, and the Steelers won in overtime, 13-10.  Something ironic that I noticed, Santonio Holmes scored the last TD of last season, the super bowl game winner, and he also scored the first one of this season, the steelers only TD in the game.  The steelers D is the best in the league almost every year, but the madden cover curse struck again in this game.  After being featured with card’s WR Larry Fitzgerald on Madden 10’s cover, Steelers SS Troy Polomalua got a big knee injury in the first half, and it might take him out for 2-4 weeks.  Other victims of the curse are: Dante Culpepper (2002 cover, missed 4 games that season cuz of injuries), Mike vick (2004 cover, arrested for dogfighting in 06), Donovan Mcnabb (06 cover, out for season in week 9), and Sean Alexander (07 cover, missed 6 games with broken foot).
The rest of the teams debuted on Sunday or Monday:
Sunday’s games:
Falcons 19, Dolphins 7:  Last year’s comeback teams didn’t look great in the opener, but falcon’s offense got enough for the win.  I thought ATL TE Tony Gonzalez looked crisp in his opener with his new team (5 rec, 73 yds, 1 td).
Broncos 12, Bengals 7:  in possibly the luckiest play I have ever seen, the broncos scored the winning TD with 11 seconds left on the clock.  A Kyle Orton pass to Brandon Marshall was tipped, landed in Brandon Stokely’s hands, and he ran 82 yards to the endzone, then proceeded to stop on the 1 yd line and take off 5 more seconds of the clock.  Quote from bengal’s WR Chad Ochocinco’s Twitter after the game, “Man I can't believe how today ended, I've never seen anything like that in my life, not even a video game, Wow!!!!!”
Vikings 34, Browns 20:  Adrian Peterson rushed for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns, stealing the spotlight from Episode Three of “Favre Back Again.”
Colts 14, Jaguars 12:  Colts win on a jag’s failed 2-point conversion.  Peyton Manning reaches Colt’s QB win record at 118, now needs 1 more to pass the great Johnny Unitas.
Saints 45, Lions 27:  Drew Brees’s 6 passing touchdowns gets the Saints the win in this shootout debut for Lion’s No 1 overall draft pick QB Mathew Stafford.
Cowboys 34, Buccaneers 21:  Tony Romo threw 3 deep TD’s in Cowboy’s win.
Eagles 38, Panthers 10:  28 Eagles 2nd quarter point’s, Panther’s QB Delhomme has 5 Turnovers. ‘Nuff said.
Ravens 38, Chiefs 24:  Sophomore QB Joe Flacco threw 3 TD’s and a pick in a closer game than it should have been.
Jets 24, Texans 7:  Possibly the biggest upset of the week, Veteran RB Thomas Jones and rookie QB Mark Sanchez surpassed most expectations.
Giants 23, Redskins 17:  Giants pick up where they left off, looking for another solid season out of them.
49ers 20, Cardinals 16:  The other big win by the underdog, 49ers beat last year’s runners-up by controlling the Birds’ explosive passing game.
Seahawks 28, Rams 0:  Matt Hasselbeck made up for his 2 interceptions with 3 passing TD’s in this week’s only shutout.
Packers 21, Bears 15:  In this NFC North rivalry, the Packers’ defense prevailed, forcing Bear’s QB Jay Cutler to only 1 TD and 4 INT’s.
Monday’s games were both close, sloppy wins for the heavily favored teams.  The Patriots narrowly escaped with a 25-24 win over the Bills in an exciting game, and the Charger beat the hugely under-favored Raiders 24-20 in the late-night game.
